TELL US A LITTLE BIT ABOUT REBECCA MARIE WEDDINGS AND EVENTS.
I'm Rebecca, a wedding planner and stylist based in the South West covering weddings and events all over the world. I help couples with all different aspects of their special day, from planning the entire wedding to simply helping with the aesthetics or coordinating of the day itself. I started my career in events working in vineyards in Western Australia, before moving to Ireland and working in the corporate events world at Dublin's largest stadium before following my heart back to Weddings and back to the UK!

WHAT THREE WORDS WOULD YOU USE TO DESCRIBE YOUR BUSINESS?
Dynamic, creative and passionate.

WHAT’S YOUR BIGGEST BUSINESS HIGHLIGHT TO DATE?
Being able to work with the most amazing couples each year is a big enough highlight for me but running successful workshops all over the country, and soon world, for wedding photographers and filmmakers (Workshops by LARK) is definitely a big highlight also.

WHAT INSPIRED YOU TO GET INTO WEDDING AND EVENT PLANNING?
While travelling in Australia I almost fell into the industry and have absolutely adored the magic of a wedding day ever since the very first wedding I worked on. I love that each celebration is so unique and strange enough I love the pressure and the buzz of the big day itself!

WHAT’S YOUR FAVOURITE PART ABOUT WORKING WITH YOUR CLIENTS?
Without a doubt it's getting to know them, in order to plan the most personal celebration of their life it's so important to get to know their loves, dislikes and who they really are. For a full planned wedding by the time the day comes I am the number one wedding bestie!

HOW DO YOU MAKE SURE YOU ARE ABLE TO CREATE THE EVENT THAT YOUR CLIENT HAS BEEN DREAMING OF?
Discussing the client's ideas and dreams in great detail at the beginning of the planning journey helps me to get an idea as to the type or style of event they are wanting, I always ask both parties (individually) their top 3 must haves for the big day and also what part of the day is most important to them - This helps me to prioritise and ensure both parties have the wedding day they have been dreaming of. Quite often there are hundreds of images on a Pinterest board and it's my role to create a cohesive look from this, it is common that the client isn't quite sure about exactly what they want until they see it on the day!

WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE TO A COUPLE WHO ARE PLANNING THEIR BIG DAY WITHOUT A WEDDING PLANNER?
It is a wedding planner's job to plan events whereas you will be finding time to plan in between your own job, maybe children and definitely life itself - I would advise you set a small amount of time each week for tackling wedding planning, keeping it in manageable chunks at a regular time will most definitely result in the least amount of stress! Another vital piece of advice is to take your time to find your suppliers - Wedding planner's have all of the best, local suited suppliers at the click of a finger but you need to hunt them down! I would always suggest looking at inspirational bridal shoots you like and looking at supplier lists, Instagram is a great tool for finding suppliers that have a great local network.

WHAT TOP TIPS WOULD YOU GIVE SOMEONE ORGANISING THEIR EVENT OR WEDDING? I would always advise to set a budget at the very beginning of planning, then prioritise areas of the day/event and suppliers that are most important to you and break the budget down accordingly. Most of the stress of event planning comes from either not setting a budget or not sticking to it! I also think you shouldn't get too carried away on Pinterest or Instagram - So much of what you see is inspiration as opposed to practical and workable ideas and it is important not to get too disheartened if the giant, suspended flower cloud hanging over each and every table at your reception is way out of your budget!
