Back by popular demand! Step into the festive season in our very own time-capsule for one weekend only. Pop on your hats and gloves, and head to our second instalment of Gloucester’s secret cocktail bar, Scriptorium, here at Blackfriars Priory.
With Medieval Décor, a Festive Menu of Seasonal Cocktails, including an Apple and Cinnamon Martini and a Pomegranate Moscow Mule, and delicious pizzas from Openside Pizza, cooked fresh on the flame to order, Scriptorium’s Medieval Cocktail Emporium is a Festive Event not to be missed.
The Scriptorium at Blackfriars Priory is widely considered to be the oldest standing purpose-built library in Northern Europe and is of international historical importance. Rarely open to the public, this Cocktail Emporium offers an exceptional opportunity to step inside this scheduled monument. Due to the nature of the building, the room will be cold so we encourage you to embrace the unique surroundings, and wrap up warm.

Tables can be booked in groups of 2, 3, 4, 6 and 8. If you have a smaller group than the tables available, you can still book the table and enjoy the cocktails included in the table price.

Following updates to Government guidelines on 13th December 2021 surrounding covid-19, attendees will be required to wear a face covering while moving around the venue. Hand sanitiser will be available throughout the site and ordering drinks to the table will be available via our app for guests who would prefer to remain seated and not order at the bar.

Ticket price includes your first cocktail. Choose from:
Salted Caramel Espresso Martini – Vodka, Coffee Liqueur, Salted Caramel Syrup, Espresso and garnished with popcorn
Cinnamon & Amaretto / Bourbon Sour – Disaronno / Bourbon, Lemon Juice, Cinnamon Syrup, MS Better Bitters and garnished with a dehydrated lemon wheel.
Honey & Clove Old Fashioned – Bourbon, Honey, Angostura Bitters, Angostura Orange Bitters garnished with orange zest with cloves
Pomegranate Moscow Mule – Vodka, Lime Juice, Pomegranate Juice, Angostura Bitters, Ginger Beer and garnished with a dehydrated lime wheel.
Apple & Cinnamon Martini – Gin, Apple Juice, Cinnamon Syrup, Lemon juice garnished with a slice of apple.
Non-alcoholic options available.
