Do.omyoga Candlelight Practice

  • Blackfriars Priory Ladybellegate Street Gloucester Gloucestershire (map)

Do.omyoga is the bringing together of music and movement with stillness to create an immersive meditation. A journey and exploration of the self through sound.

Join Do.omyoga for a very special candlelight Yoga practice focused on turning ourselves inwards as we move in to the Winter. A time of rest and restoration. In the darkness and stillness we realise all the seeds are potent with potential that must be nurtured during this time to brings signs of new creativity and inspiration in spring. A deeply connecting session will take you on a journey and sonic landscape of drone, doom metal, ambient, electronic music, enveloping you in sound, where equal focus is the place of movement through Asana, Conscious breathing, Meditation and the music. Moving slowly into some dynamic movement to release the body you will then be led into mainly floor based postures moving deeper into your body, yourself and the sound. Take a moment to breathe. Take a moment to be present. Take a moment to feel  peace. Take a moment to just be yourself.

Great music is a synthesis between sound and silence. The greater the synthesis the deeper the music goes. The sound creates the silence and the silence creates the receptivity to receive sound. Sound creates more love for music, more capacity to become silent. Listening to great music you will always be prayerful and something whole. Something integrates in you. You become centred, rooted. The earth and sky meet. The body and soul meet. They are no longer separate
