Back to back nights showcasing Gloucestershire’s hottest talent spanning across a huge variety of genres!

Friday shines’s the spotlight on incredible singer songwriters, indie solo acts, and vocal powerhouses!

On the Saturday, we’re mixing it up, bringing only the best RnB, Electronic and Urban acts! With this being the only Upsurge event of the summer, you don't want to miss this one!

The Music Works’ UPSURGE Talent Development programme supports young emerging musicians, artists, producers and engineers aged between 18-30 in Gloucestershire.

Summer Social at Blackfriars Priory is a series of socially distanced live events taking place in the beautiful Cloister Garden of our 13th century Priory.

Book your spot in the Garden and enjoy sun covered evening performances from some of Gloucestershire's best musicians and bands. Relax with family and friends with an ice cold drink from our bar, or share one of our delicious snack boxes.

Set in front of the Scriptorium - widely regarded as the oldest surviving purpose built library in Europe - our stage will host spirit lifting performances throughout August.

Appearances include festival favourites Thrill Collins, a special blues & roots filled Damon T Celebratory Concert, a two night take-over from The Music Works; showcasing the finest young talent in the city from indie, folk and pop through to funk, RnB and Hip Hop. That's not all! Barleyfield records bring their Reggae soundsystem, we'll host Gloucester wordsmiths for a special Food For Thoughts poetry night, and a bank holiday Comedy night still to be announced!

OUR SAFETY MEASURES

- Each plot is designated to your party size. We have spaces for groups of 2, 3, 4 & 6.

- Each plot is safely 2m apart

- We'll have sanitiser stations on the front doors and throughout the site

- We'll have markers in place to help guide you around the site at a safe distance

- Waiter service only bar. No need to queue up for a drink, just order on our app!

HOW YOU CAN HELP US

- Use our sanitiser stations and/or wash your hands regularly

- Maintain a safe 2m distance from other guests

- Guests are welcome to wear face coverings when inside the building, but are not required to in the Garden
