The Jay Cee Big Band
CHRISTMAS CONCERT LIVE
from Blackfriars Priory
The concert will feature Big Band performances of festive favourites and will be streamed live from Blackfriars Priory across the Guildhall’s website and Facebook page.
Viewers can expect exciting arrangements of everything from Santa Claus Is Coming To Town to a swinging version of Hark The Herald Angels Sing, entitled Yo Hark! Those Angels Swing.
Born in the 1960’s by then bandleader John Chamberlain, the Jay Cee Big Band has been performing their unique takes on Big Band music for 60 years. Most recently bandleader Paul Arthurs and Baritone Saxophonist Graham Ross teamed up to record Lockdown compositions.
Hosted in the magnificent North Range of the 13th century Blackfriars Priory, with its towering scissor-braced ceiling, this magical performance will be available to everyone to watch with no need for a ticket.
Instead viewers will be invited to make a donation to the charity Winston’s Wish, helping to support bereaved children, young people and their families.
Winston’s Wish was the UK’s first childhood bereavement charity. They have supported bereaved children and young people since 1992 and continue to lead the way in providing specialist child bereavement support services across the UK.
